Shirley Fitzgerald
A long time resident of San Mateo, Shirley has devoted her life to family and music for the church. In addition to a long career in music she's raised a musical family. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree with emphasis in voice from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri plus many graduate hours at San Jose State University, Chapman University, University of Missouri, and many other institutions. Shirley has been involved in church music since she was 12 years old, and her professional experience includes being organist as well as choir director and Bell choir director at several churches over the years. She has taught in public schools from grade school on up but spent most of her teaching career at the High School level at Hillsdale High School and Aragon High School. She's sung with many groups, toured internationally with choral groups,and directed Musical Theatre productions. She currently sings with Peninsula Cantare, a community choir based in Redwood City, but her true love is church music.
